For the Spirit within me

For this earth

For her sea

For new morning mercies

For ocean sunrises

For mountain sunsets

For sea-kissed air

For evergreens and campfire

For laughter

For tears

For long-distance phone calls

For journeys and reunions

For presence and place

For sorrow

For celebration

For tear-stained cheeks

For suffering and steadfastness

For lessons learned

For helpers

For healing

For the sun on my face

For rainy days by a fire

For savory

For sweet

For bitter, too

For cool water on my skin as I swim

For air that I breathe

For slow morning instrumentals

For afternoon hugs

For movie nights

For candlelight

For feasting and friendship and food

For dessert first

For fresh sourdough

For a good glass of Cabernet

For the scents

For the tastes

For the sounds and the scenes

For art and beauty

For creators creating

For piano grand

For a song sung

For her voice

For mama’s boys

For companionship and life-long commitment

For the touch of his skin and hand holding mine

For prayer

For blessing

For ten thousand more

I do not yet know

For all of this

I give thanks.
